Ford F-150 Maintenance

Routine maintenance on the F-150 turns into a possible $1700 estimate on repair.

With no job I am trying to stay busy and do all those things that are easier to do in the middle of the week while the husband works. So being a good little wife I take his truck into the shop for an oil change and to get the tires rotated.

Why was I surprised when out walked the manager walked out and told me the things that needed to done.

1. 1 BR Clean and Adjust $29.99 ( I don't even remember what this one is)
2. 4 Shocks (Front and Rear) $649.80
3. 1 Alignment $69.99
4.1 LF Tie Rod Outer $85.45
5. 2 Upper Cont Arm Bushing $170.08
6. Oil Pan Gasket $717.45

These include parts and labor.

I stuck to my guns and went for what I came in for today, but I do figure that some or all of this should be done. Unfortunately with me having no job $1700 is out of the question. So now we have to sit down and decide how much to spend on a 1998 Ford F-150 with 123,000 miles on it.
