20/30 Fat & Fiber Diet Plan

My husband heard about 20/30 Fat & Fiber Diet Plan by Gabe Mirkin, M.D. and Barry Fox Ph.D. when we lived in Maryland some 8 years ago. For the 10 months we were there we were fairly strict followers of the plan and it worked, but then the bad habits came back and we slowly began to cheat.

I can say that we still tried hard to keep our fiber intake up we neglected the fat gram count. So Tuesday night he, being my husband, and I decided to keep track with what we were eating to see who was closer to the 20 grams of fat and 30 grams of fiber.

Let's say I quit keeping tract about 3:00 o'clock due to my own embarrassment. I am hoping by sharing my horrid eating habits it might motivate me to do better.

Chocolate milk- 0 fiber but it was lowfat milk
3 Glasses of water (over a 6 hour period)
3 Diet cokes (over a 6 hour period)
Wavy Lays and Dean's Low Fat Dip (Yikes have you noticed no fiber as of yet)
Spinach Salad w/ tomatos, mushrooms, red peppers carrots, radishes, but instead of the vinigerette I over did it on Ranch..
2 Brownies

At this point I quit. Although I did have a lowfat Pompano Sauce over whole wheat linquine

Today has been better except I have not had enough water.
Again I started with Chocolate Milk
3 Diet Cokes, but I have stopped for the day and will only drink water I promise.
A large spinach salad w/ veggies, but with very little dressing
A oatmeal breakfast bar for snack.

I have a big pot of SOUTHERN WHITE BEANS in the crock pot and fruit for dessert. So if I can hold out until bedtime I will have passed the test for today.
